present and fall are both inside 2007 — the plate drops partway through the game — so years alone cannot separate them. _meta/calendar.md therefore ends present and starts fall at this page, and every instant in the corpus is compared as a (year, sequence) pair. sequence: 2 puts it after the opening of the present day without claiming a month the game never gives.
