Your next 7th Heaven modstarts in a browser tab.
A modding studio for Final Fantasy VII that runs in a browser tab: it reads the copy on your own disk, never writes to it, and hands your work back as a single .iro you drop into 7th Heaven like any other mod. This round is fields and characters — the maps, the models standing on them, and the words they say.
- The party member the game never gave you
- A Midgar street that is not on the map
- A scene that finally says the right thing
The Workshop is in private beta, opened in batches so that whatever breaks gets fixed before the next group arrives. Sign in with the Steam account you applied with.
Steam tells us three things: that the account is yours, that it owns Final Fantasy VII, and which place in the queue is yours — and your projects can be backed up against it. No password reaches us.
Do I need to own the game?
Yes. The Workshop ships none of the game's data — it reads the copy you already own, off your own disk. It is built for the PC version of Final Fantasy VII sold on Steam, and works alongside 7th Heaven and FFNx.
Will it touch my install?
No. It only reads. There is no code path in it that writes into a game directory, and nothing of the game is uploaded — the archives are read where they sit, a piece at a time, inside this tab. What comes out is a separate .iro file.
Does it play nicely with my other mods?
Yes. Output is a normal .iro, so it sits in your 7th Heaven load order like anything else, and a mod that changes one field map ships as a few kilobytes of that map rather than a rebuilt archive.
